We’re officially in the heart of busy season! I can’t remember the last time I got more than six hours of sleep and my inbox isn’t quite getting emptied all the way through each day… But it’s in these busy moments that I’ve learned to be grateful! The rush of engagements, meetings, inquiries, and those breathtaking wedding days are truly what set my heart on fire!
And this past week, I spent two days working on the upcoming launch of the Rising Tide Society and planning out the educational resources that we’re excited to launch once the website goes live on June 1st! I think I’m most excited about our *secret* video project and also about the blog component of the website that will hopefully serve as a great source of information for small business CEOs and creative entrepreneurs!

I always joke about the number of hats that I wear as a photographer, blogger, and now founder of a new project… but, I truly couldn’t do any of it without the incredible colleagues + friends who make it possible! I owe a serious thank you to my Second Shooters + Assistants this season: Maddie, Kate, + Tricia as well as my Photo Editor, Rebekah, and my accountant Tom! I learned early on that I’m much stronger and more effective when I outsource certain parts of my business (editing, bookkeeping, accounting, and so on!) — These folks make it possible for me to shoot thirty-seven weddings this year, run a wedding blog, launch educational projects, and still have time to be a wife to my high school sweetheart!
And although balancing it all isn’t easy (trust me, it’s just about the furthest thing from easy!) — I’m getting better each and every year as I develop systems for this business that increase productivity and enhance my client experience! It also helps to have an amazing Momma who taught me the meaning of hard work and perseverance… She not only raised my sister and I as a single mother, but coached our sports teams, encouraged us to study what we loved (photography and neuroscience for me, medicine for my sister!), and sacrificed to send both of her girls to UPenn + Princeton. Sunday, I had the chance to spend the evening with my Mom for Mother’s Day! It was great to take a break from the busyness to celebrate the greatest woman in the world!
On Friday evening, I met with Stephanie & Matthew in downtown Annapolis for their Engagement Session! It was an absolutely gorgeous spring evening by the water and I can’t to capture their big day this summer!
On Saturday, I photographed Christina & Russell’s Wedding at Silver Swan Bayside on Maryland’s gorgeous Eastern Shore! Gorgeous weather and a beautiful couple, I’m so excited to share more with you on the blog this week!
I hope your week is off to a great start! Happy Monday!

Love these, especially that awesome bridal party shot! Such perfect light!
So many beautiful sneak peeks! That engagement session just looks like it was perfect, and that photo of the couple in the foreground from the wedding is stunning! I can’t wait to see more.
And I agree completely – outsourcing is totally necessary to maintain my sanity and I’m no where near as busy as you!
Looks like a fun and busy weekend!
I love all the hats that you wear! You’re an inspiration Natalie!!
So fun! I always love your recaps. And yeah, that Kate is a keeper 🙂 <3
