The air was light and crisp. You took my hand and we walked… up over the cobblestone hillsides and along the windy roads leading back into town. Below us little ships were scattered along the coast, their colorful hulls like marbles tossing gently in the sea. Our wandering feet lead us down back alleys as you brushed the raindrops from my hair. The clouds beckoned us to turn around, but we kept heading for the coast.
One step more, just one step more, you encouraged me. My eyes were wide and my heart was full. I’d take a thousand more steps, I thought to myself… as long as you’re leading the way.
It feels like just yesterday that Huey and I were waking up on the Mediterranean Sea. The city of Sorrento stole my heart. The views, the spectacular food, and our incredible Italian hosts at La Minervetta made this an unbelievable experience!
Every morning we were greeted with an endless spread of sweet pastries, homemade lattes + espresso, and fruit. We spent our time wandering the coast and exploring. We visited quite a few cities on our European trip, but I truly enjoyed Sorrento the most! And I only took my camera with me a few of the days on our honeymoon because I truly wanted to live in the moment. Whenever I travel for fun (and not for business) I have to remind myself to relax and put away the camera! It was so incredibly freeing to just soak in every moment without being tied to a device!
I’m missing Huey more than ever right now as we explore Hawaii on our Pacific Photographic Trip, but seeing these photographs remind me of our past adventures and all the ones on the horizon! I can’t wait to share our travel photographs from this current trip in the coming weeks as well!
As a little bonus – I’m sharing a few iPhone Backgrounds to take a piece of Italy with you! Simply click on a photo below and it will open in a new page. Hold down on that photo, save it, and feel free to use it as wallpaper! (They are perfectly formatted to fit your screen, so if you click “perspective zoom: off†and then zoom out, it will fit the screen perfectly!) Enjoy!
