The past few days have been a beautiful whirlwind of shoots, a wedding, autumn workshop planning (yay! details coming soon!), lots of editing, and album design! We’re also in the process of a kitchen renovation so there is literally a cloud of sawdust taking over the first floor of our house! Our new refrigerator and dishwasher have been installed and we’ll be getting our new countertops this week! Yay!
One of the things I love most about my husband, is how much pride he takes in working hands-on with the home renovations. My Father in Law came over this weekend and the two of them spent hours together working on the kitchen. Big Hugh and Little Hugh working side by side. I know it’s cheesy, but I feel so blessed to be a part of the Hayes Family and have in laws that enjoy being a part of our lives.
And with the busiest part of my year quickly approaching, I’m even luckier to have such an amazing support system! Late Summer through the mid-Autumn is notorious for being one of the most beautiful times in Maryland… so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I’m telling my friends to call me again in November as I buckle down for one of the most exciting points in the season! This weekend kicked off ‘Wedding Season, Round Two’ in an incredible fashion –
I have adored Jeanne for years now & it is always a blessing when I get the opportunity to photograph families as they grow! Last week, I met them on a little roadside for a quick family session in the summer sun! You may remember these sweet faces from this Annapolis Senior Portrait Session last year! Some of the sweetest young girls you could ever meet and two parents that love them to pieces!
Over the past couple years, I have been lucky enough to photograph both of Zach’s older sisters’ senior portraits and last week – I had the opportunity to get Zach in front of the camera! He’s a talented athlete with the hopes of going military after high school AND we had the chance to shoot his session at my alma mater! I still cannot believe how much everything has changed since I went there half a decade ago!
On Saturday, I had the incredible honor and privilege of photography Becka & John’s Wedding at Silver Swan Bayside on the Eastern Shore! It was my earliest wedding of the year and my first time this year having to tackle that harsh mid-day sun for portraits! These two (and their awesome bridal party) rocked it out with me in the August heat and we mastered that direct sunlight right on the Chesapeake!
Becka and John are absolutely adorable together! I’m excited to share more from this special wedding on the blog this Wednesday! Yay!
I ended my absolutely incredible weekend with Christina & RJ’s Engagement Session on his family’s property. Their barns, the fields of corn, the docks and the creek… literally took my breath away. And the best part? Christina and RJ are completely and blissfully captivated with one another. They literally light up the room together!  I can’t wait to share more of these two on Thursday!
An amazing weekend. A busy week ahead. And a birthday in a week and a half! Yay!
