Last week, I had the incredible honor and privilege of flying out to Washington State to photograph Malia & Andy’s Wedding in the small town of Centralia. It was the trip of a lifetime with Krista Jones by my side and an amazing couple that was excited to celebrate beside the people they love most in this world.
Malia and Andy are truly an extraordinary couple. Through distance, deployment, and military life – these two have conquered every possible challenge in the pursuit of their friendship and love. Family, or ‘ohana as Malia’s father explained to me, was the uniting theme of the entire day. Andy’s father officiated the ceremony and brought laughter and tears to everyone in the room, while Andy’s brother traveled all the way from Singapore to stand beside him at the altar! Malia’s parents handled all of the catering (and it was absolutely incredible!), her mother made the bouquets, the beautiful Hawaiian music was performed by family friends as well, and it was the men of Malia’s immediate family who performed a traditional Hula to celebrate their marriage – Rarely do you see two people so perfectly united, surrounded by so many others who share in their joy.  And I am so excited to be sharing a few of my favorites from their wedding with you all today!
Congratulations Malia & Andy! Wishing you the best and sending my love all the way to the Pacific!
One of my favorite moments – Malia dancing a hula for Andy. It was so incredibly beautiful!
And I couldn’t end this post without thanking Malia and Andy’s families for welcoming us into your lives! I felt so truly honored to be a part of this special day and your kindness meant so much to me! Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything!
