There are only a few things in this world that will get me out of bed at 4:30am on a Sunday morning… And one of those, arguably my favorite variety of the early-morning wakeup call, is a sunrise session! The two times of the day when the light is most consistently soft and golden are at sunrise and sunset. And during the summer, a constant threat of thunderstorms and obnoxious heat makes sunrise extremely appealing to clients and photographers alike!
When Charlotte, wedding planner extraordinare and owner of Charlotte Jarrett Events, mentioned Veronica and Doyin’s love of Washington DC and the monuments – I suggested the idea of getting up early, beating the crowds, and doing a sunrise session. Most couples would laugh, or at least politely decline, but not Veronica and Doyin! They jumped at the opportunity to have the Washington DC Monuments and artistic streets of Georgetown all to themselves on an early Sunday morning!
And I honestly couldn’t have imagined having so much fun, so early in the morning, had it not been for these sweethearts! Veronica and Doyin are an amazing duo – She is full of energy and vivacity, while he is her steady and calming soulmate. They both met at Virginia Tech and have an impeccable sense of style! (Just check out those leopard pumps – love, love, love!)
Together they make an incredible pair and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in March!
